Russian Railways says loses cargo loading on logistic failures

MOSCOW, Mar 22 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways is experiencing problems with wagon unloading in the ports, unplanned redistribution of coal from exports to local consumption and is concerned with the lengthy repair of locomotives, which jointly lead to a loading decline, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We are urging our clients to be more responsible while organizing cargo transportation routes with (capacity) restrictions,” Russian Railways said.

“Fulfillment of obligations to transport coal is under special control of the company executives … Unfortunately, we see cases of irrational logistics and disruptions in operations of other participants of the process."

The ports of Posyet and Vanino in the Far East, as well as several southern ports, have difficulties with unloading.

"With the current hot demand for transportation and capacity deficit, it will be impossible to catch up with everything that is not loaded now," the company said.
